POLICY / PUBLIC RECORD
Privacy Policy
Effective September 1, 2026
What the site collects, what it does not collect, and how technical data may be handled.
The short version
Behind Black Bar does not currently offer user accounts, payments, comments, or an on-site subscription form. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.
Information handled automatically
Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, and security signals. Server logs may be retained for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
Information you choose to provide
If you contact Behind Black Bar through a channel published with an edition or on a third-party platform, that service and its privacy terms apply. We use correspondence to respond, evaluate corrections or tips, and maintain necessary editorial records. Do not send classified material, unlawfully obtained records, or information that could endanger a person.
Cookies and local storage
The public site does not intentionally set advertising or behavioral-profiling cookies. Essential infrastructure may use limited storage or security mechanisms when required to deliver the service.
External links
Official archives and other source links lead to third-party websites. Their operators control their own collection and privacy practices.
Retention, security, and rights
We retain information only as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, legal obligations, security, or editorial documentation. No internet service can promise absolute security. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information.
Children and changes
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We may revise this policy as the service changes; the effective date above identifies the current version.
